Welcome to the Borough of Dumont Tax Office

The Tax Collector's prepares nearly 5,200 property tax bills, as well as Added Assessment Bills. Annual tax bills are mailed as soon as the tax rate is struck by the Bergen County Board of Taxation. The Tax Collector presides at the annual Tax Sale, and also adjusts the tax accounts for tax appeals, as well as Senior Citizen, Disabled and Veterans Deductions.

The office is open for your convenience from 9am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 4:30pm weekdays, except holidays, and Monday nights from 6pm to 8pm during collection period. You may also use our drop boxes conveniently located in the entry way in the Municipality at 50 Washington Avenue, Dumont, between 8am and 4:30pm. When should I expect my Tax bill?
Tax bills are printed and mailed mid-year, every year. Quarterly payments are due on the first of: February 1, May 1, August 1, & November 1.

May I pay my property taxes online?
Dumont home owners have the ability to view and pay their property taxes on line.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a fee associated with paying your bill online as noted below:

  • If you pay by e-check or Automated Clearing House (ACH), the fee is $1.95 per transaction.
  • If you pay with a credit or debit card, the fee is 2.95% of your total bill (e.g., if your quarterly tax bill is $2,000, your fee is $59.00 per transaction).
  • Please be advised: If you make an online payment, you will not be able to make another online payment during the same business day cycle.
